MADISON, Wis., April 25, 2007 — NimbleGen Systems is pleased to announce that Gregg Fergus, former senior vice president of sales and global operations for Affymetrix, has been elected to the company’s board of directors.

“Gregg Fergus brings a unique talent and a valuable perspective to NimbleGen's Board,” said Dr. Stan Rose, NimbleGen president and CEO. “He has had an enormous impact in the microarray space, having built a successful commercial organization at Affymetrix, and we're delighted to have Gregg join the NimbleGen team.”

Since leaving Affymetrix, where he was responsible for worldwide commercial development, Mr. Fergus has served as chief commercial officer of both Cellular Dynamics International, Inc., a privately held drug screening company, and Stem Cell Products, Inc., a privately held stem cell technology company. In January 2007 he also began consulting for Caden Biosciences, a life sciences tools and services company, and became Executive in Residence for Baird Venture Partners. Prior to Affymetrix, Mr. Fergus held high-level commercial roles at Covance and Amersham, now GE Healthcare.
